KANSAS CITY, KS (KCTV) -

A Kansas City Kansas Public Schools Police Department officer has been charged with three counts of indecent liberties with a child.

Michael Eugene English, Sr., was charged Thursday in Wyandotte County. English worked as an officer at West Middle School.

The Kansas City, KS Public Schools District said English is currently on administrative leave and has been since the district learned of the allegations.

Wyandotte County District Attorney Mark Dupree said there are three different victims in the case.

The Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools Police Department received notice of the case on March 21.

It was then forwarded to Dupree's office, he said.

He has been an employee of the district since 2002. The Kansas City, KS Police Department was involved in the investigation because they are a separate agency.

English, if convicted, could spend 172 months in prison.
