KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

The Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Rams will square off in Mexico City on Monday Night Football.

They'll play at 7:15 p.m. on Nov. 19 in a game that will air on ESPN and be played in the famed Estadio Azteca.

The Chiefs made the announcement on Twitter.

It will be the first time former Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters will play against his old team. Peters was traded to the Rams in return for draft picks.

Former Rams wide receiver Sammy Watkins signed with the Chiefs this offseason.

Both Kansas City and Los Angeles won their respective divisions in 2017.

The Chiefs own a 26-18 all-time record in Monday Night Football games and under Head Coach Andy Reid, have won three of their four matchups.

Kansas City has played five international games in their history, posting a 2-3 record.

The team's last overseas contest came in a 45-10 win over the Detroit Lions in London, England during the 2015 season.

Kansas City is 1-0 when playing in Mexico. They defeated the Dallas Cowboys 32-6 in Monterrey, Mexico in August of 1996 during a preseason American Bowl contest.

Chiefs Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt has played a key role in expanding the NFL’s footprint, serving as the International Committee’s Chairman since 2011.
