Kathy Griffin, the comedian whose life and career got shaken up last year after she posed for a photo holding a replica of Donald Trump's severed head, is back to throwing barbs at the President.

Griffin will appear as Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway in The President Show's hourlong special Make America Great-A-Thon on April 2, Comedy Central announced Thursday.

In May of last year, Griffin briefly became the President's No. 1 enemy when she released an "artistic" photo that depicted Trump decapitated. She apologized (and later retracted that apology) after losing several deals, including co-hosting CNN's New Year's Eve coverage, but said that despite Trump and his family personally trying to ruin her life, she wouldn't be silenced and would continue to make fun of him. And here she goes. This appearance will be her first TV role since the scandal.

"I am kicking the hornet's nest, as much as I can," Griffin told the New York Times. "I think it's important to lean into the controversy, because I know so much more about it now. I think now enough time has passed where people are starting see the ridiculousness of what happened to me, and they're seeing other people that Trump has done it to."

The President Show Is an Impression of Trump's Soul

The special -- an offshoot of the satirical late-night series in which Anthony Atamanuik does a dark and dead-on impression of the President as a talk show host -- takes the form of a telethon in which the commander-in-chief tries to raise money for the projects he can't get Congress to fund, like building the wall and paying off porn stars. Griffin will appear as Conway along with Trump's sidekick Mike Pence (Peter Grosz). Other guests have not yet been announced, but previous guests on The President Show have included James Adomian as Bernie Sanders, John Gemberling as Steve Bannon and executive producer Adam Pally as Donald Trump Jr.

The President Show's future as a series is unclear, but it's slated for two hourlong specials this year, the one next week with Griffin and one in the summer. It previously did a Christmas special last year called I Came Up with Christmas.

Make America Great-A-Thon: A President Show Special premieres Tuesday, April 3 at 11/10c.
