(Meredith) – Some grandmas knit. Some grandmas bake. Shirley Curry plays video games.

"It keeps my brain active," Curry told 60 Second Docs in a YouTube video interview. According to her YouTube channel, her favorite game is Skyrim, a type of video game that allows players to explore dungeons and slay dragons. In the game, players can collect all sorts of items, including plants and animal skins.

“I love all the flower that (I) can pick,” she told 60 Second Docs. An expected answer from a sweet, 82-year-old grandmother of nine.

But not only does she play the games, she’s even created her own “Let’s Play” channel (a genre of YouTube videos dedicated to watching people play video games), which boasts more than 280,000 subscribers. Her first video was posted in September of 2015, which currently boasts 1.5 million views.

In her videos, which are uploaded daily, you can see Curry shouting at her computer monitor, narrating her character's life, and in some cases, talking back to the fictional characters (in a very tongue-in-cheek manner).

Here’s a brief excerpt from her bio:

I am a 82 year old grandmother who loves to play, and now record, games! I live in Virginia USA I love playing Skyrim. I am a widow. I have 4 sons, 9 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandson. For those who want to know what kind of games I like: I only like real people/movie type games. I've tried other kinds of games but I don't enjoy them. :) – Shirley Curry’s “About Me” on her YouTube Channel

Oh, and if she couldn't be any sweeter, she starts her videos with a simple, uplifting greeting to all of her fans: "Hello, grandkids." And we're pretty sure that, along with her actual grandkids, she's also speaking to her 280,000 subscribers. And let's face it, who wouldn't want a grandma you can play video games with?
