Firefighters pull man from roof of burning home in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Firefighters in Kansas City made a dramatic rescue early Thursday morning, pulling a man from the roof of his burning home.

The fire started at about 12:20 a.m. at a house in the 3300 block of Troost Avenue.

When fire crews arrived, the home was engulfed in flames and a man was standing on the roof of his porch, surrounded by fire.

Crews were able to rescue the man, keeping him from any injury.

Officials believe five-to-six people lived at the home.

No injuries were reported.

Officials say the home is a total loss.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
