PRAIRIE VILLAGE, KS (KCTV) -

Valentine’s Day is one of the busiest days of the year for bakers.

At Dolce Bakery in Prairie Village, KS, that means all hands on deck.

“Our volume goes up by 10-to-20 times the normal volume,” Dolce Bakery owner Erin Brown said.

Valentine’s Day is the bakery’s second busiest day of the year behind Christmas Eve and followed by Thanksgiving.

On Wednesday alone, they will make at least 200 pounds of icing, 30-dozen heart-shaped cinnamon rolls and will bake all the way through the weekend.

Brown says having valentine’s fall in the middle of the week in 2018 made things challenging to prepare for, but has not stopped people from coming in.

“All walks of life. Sometimes it’s their significant other sometimes it’s just girlfriends sometimes it’s guys and guy friends and lots of kids,” Brown said.

Dolce is extending its hours until 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

All Valentine’s Day related products will be available until Saturday.

Dolce is located at 3930 W 69th Terrace.
