OLATHE, KS (KCTV) -

Wednesday is twice as sweet for an Olathe couple. Not only are they celebrating Valentine’s Day but also 64 years of marriage.

Jeanene and Kenneth Johnson met on a blind date, but she says they didn’t exactly hit it off. They bumped into each other again at a Halloween party, and that’s when sparks flew.

“From then on, we just started going together just like we were meant to, I guess" Jeanene Johnson said.

These lovebirds decided to tie the knot on Feb.14 – a day all about romance.

"I guess I thought that means flowers and candy, and he’s not near that romantic," Johnson laughed.

The couple says to make a marriage last, both must trust each other and learn to work around their arguments.

"As long as we're living, we'll be together, that's for sure," Johnson said.

To celebrate Valentine’s Day and their anniversary, they’ll be getting a steak dinner delivered by their daughter.

Also, getting married on Valentine’s Day has turned into a family tradition. The Johnson’s granddaughter also got married on Valentine’s Day.
