MANHATTAN, KS (KCTV) -

Kansas State Wildcats associate head coach Sean Snyder is speaking out for the first time since his son took his own life earlier this year.

Matthew Snyder, 22, was found dead in Manhattan on Jan. 18.

Sean Snyder tweeted a message of thanks on Wednesday night.

"Wanda and I want to share our deepest thanks for the love, thoughts and prayers so many of you have shared with our family," he said. "There are no words that comfort or mend the emptiness we have. It has been comforting to hear the stories of Matthew sharing his heart and laughter with so many people."
