LAWRENCE, KS (KCTV) -

The University of Kansas introduced a special recruit on Wednesday - and just like any new Jayhawk, he was pumped to get the news.

Tayber Witt, 11, has genetics syndrome.

What he may lack in size, he more than makes up for with heart.

He has already started bonding with one of his teammates.

"I feel like I gained a family member, like a little brother," Jayhawks cornerback Bryce Torneden said. "I'm the youngest in my family, so you know I always wanted a little brother or sister."

Witt will attend games, practices and events at KU.

The signing was arranged through a partnership with Team IMPACT.
