For high school football players, the future of their playing career comes down to one day.
Wednesday is National Signing Day.
Throughout the day, athletes make their commitments to the colleges they will play in the fall.
The event begins the period when high school athletes can sign national letters of intent to play a specific sport at a college of their choice.
When it comes to local colleges, six players are expected to sign with Missouri State, three players are expected to sign with Missouri, two players are expected to sign with Kansas State and one player is expected to sign with Kansas.
Several Kansas City area athletes will officially announce their decisions on Wednesday.

Football generates the most news on National Signing Day but there will be signings for several other sports, as well.
