KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Over a dozen residents were evacuated following an apartment fire Tuesday in Parkville.

The call came out at 7:25 p.m. on Tuesday night. Heavy smoke was discovered in one of the apartments in the area.

A total of 13 people were displaced, including Vicki Roath and her four grandchildren.

"I didn’t know it was as bad as it was and then just see the flames coming out and watching our homes go, I think that was very difficult," Roath said.

There are no reports of injuries at this time.

Fire crews were still on scene three hours after the initial call. The apartment is on NW Crooked Road near NW Hogan Drive just south of 45 Highway.
