(CNN/KOVR) -- A California community came to the aid of a furry creature recently after it got its head stuck inside a plastic container.
Video taken last week showed the coyote wandering through the El Dorado County Hills, eluding help.
The unusual sight spurred a growing group of volunteers to try to save her.
"Well I’ve never tackled a coyote before,” said one volunteer, Luis Escobar. "It was just amazing, everybody was there and everybody was ready and responded correctly."
"When I grabbed it and I held it, it felt really boney like a cat, it was definitely hungry, and scared and probably in shock," Escobar said.
The video shows the effort to get the wild animal, suffering, but still snarling through the see-through plastic stuck on her head, inside the crate.
Rescue crews later clipped the container off, ending a days-long effort by volunteers trying to save the coyote from pain. Now, this coyote will be okay.
