Independence police seeking 'person of interest' in shooting case

INDEPENDENCE, MO (KCTV) -

Independence police are searching for a suspect after a man was shot outside a business on Monday night.

Police on Tuesday released new information about a person of interest in the shooting that happened just before 9:30 p.m. in the 17700 block of US 40 Highway. 

Henry A. Hernandez-Guerra, 26, is 5'8" and weighs about 140 pounds. 

Investigators say he drives a grey BMW or VW Jetta. 

When officers arrived they found the man suffering from life-threatening injuries and transported him to an area hospital. The victim remains in the hospital as of Tuesday evening.
