LIVINGSTON COUNTY, MO (KCTV) -

The authorities in Livingston County are investigating after a minor was taken to a rural area by two other minors and assaulted.

Late on Friday, Livingston County Sheriff’s Office went to the Hedrick Medical Center to investigate the juvenile victim of a reported assault.

The victim said they agreed to walk to a remote location with two other juveniles and, once there, the assault happened quickly.

The suspects choked the individual multiple times, tried to tie them up with some type of rope and, tried to use heavy tape to secure their limbs.

The victim said they were beaten, threatened to be stabbed and intended to be tied up and left to die.

At some point, a large rock was used as a weapon in an attempt to hit them in the head, which resulted in injuries.

The victim was able to avoid being fully restrained and get themselves set free after agreeing to kill a different person who the suspect(s) allegedly dislike.

One of the victim’s parents took them to the hospital for treatment and called the authorities. The victim was reportedly going to be released from the hospital after being treated.

The authorities found evidence at the crime scene and the two juvenile suspects have been detained.

The Juvenile Office was involved and their parents were notified.

The authorities quickly alerted the other potential victim and their family, confirming that person had not been contacted and was safe.

No evidence or information suggests anyone else or a facility has been targeted or threatened, according to the sheriff’s office.

Reports will be submitted to both the Juvenile Office and Prosecuting Attorney Adam Warren for consideration of seeking adult criminal charges.

The investigation is ongoing.
