Shawnee man charged after 9 vehicles, home broken into in Lenexa

JOHNSON COUNTY, KS (KCTV) -

A Shawnee, KS, man has been arrested and charged as police believe he is responsible for a rash of 2016 crimes committed in a Lenexa neighborhood.

Jamen Jackson, 20, has been charged with nine counts of felony vehicle burglary, one count of felony firearms theft, one count of felony aggravated burglary of a dwelling and one count of felony obstruction of the legal process.

Police say the crimes were committed in October of 2016, in a neighborhood near 79th and Monrovia Streets.

Jackson was arrested at about 9:25 a.m. on Thursday.

Court documents show that Jackson broke into a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee, a white 2011 GMC van, a white Chevy Silverado, a tan 2012 Chevy Equinox, a white 2011 Toyota Rav4, a red 2011 Nissan Juke, a silver 2008 Honda Accord, a silver 2008 Nissan Versa and a gray 2012 Scion. The documents also say he also broke into a home and stole a gun.

Police say they are currently searching for a second suspect.

Jackson is being held on $50,000 bond.
