Kansas City man sentenced to 9 years in prison for home invasion

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A Kansas City man has pleaded guilty to multiple felony counts related to a home invasion in Waldo.

Mustafa R. Ali, 21, pleaded guilty Tuesday to second-degree robbery, second-degree assault and two counts of armed criminal action.

He was sentenced to nine years on the robbery, seven years on the assault and three years on the armed criminal action convictions. All sentences are to run concurrently.

According to court records, the victim told police that he was in his home playing video games in December 2016 when Ali entered the room and began putting the victim's belongings in a bag. They scuffled and Ali pulled a gun and pistol-whipped and shot the victim.

Ali reported that expensive shoes and clothing were stolen during the robbery as well.
