KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A person killed Sunday evening after a vehicle hit them at 37th and Prospect has been identified by police.

Michael Martin, 60, was found dead by police in the area.

Police received the call about the incident at 4:45 p.m. Sunday. When officers arrived, they found the victim lying in the street.

He later died at the hospital.

Martin's mother told KCTV5 he had just visited her on Sunday night a few minutes before he was hit by the vehicle.

His mother and sister say he was a social man who enjoyed helping others.

"He was a multi-task worker," said Patricia Milligan, Martin's sister. "There wasn't nothing he couldn't do. He was just funny. He's very well missed."

Police say they located the driver and vehicle involved thanks to a tip from the public, but the incident is still under investigation.

By KCTV5’s count, this is the third person who has been struck and killed by a car in less than 48 hours.

A 25-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run on 71 Highway late on Friday night.

Then, a person was killed at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday in the area of I-435 and Grandview after being hit by a vehicle.
