Kansas Representative Kevin Yoder is inviting Sunayana Dumala, Srinivas Kuchibhotla's widow, to attend the President's State of the Union Address.

Srinivas Kuchibhotla, 32, was an Indian immigrant who lived in Olathe. He was shot to death last February at Austins Bar & Grill.

Kuchibhotla's wife, Sunayana Dumala, become increasingly outspoken against hate in an effort to share her husband's legacy.

Yoder posted the following tweets on Twitter announcing his invitation:

Adam Purinton has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with Kuchibhotla's death and also faces federal hate crimes charges. Witnesses have said Purinton, who is white, yelled, "Get out of my country," at Kuchibhotla and another Indian national before opening fire. A third man was wounded when he tried to intervene.
