2 young people arrested in connection with life-threatening shooting in Lawrence

LAWRENCE, KS (KCTV) -

Two 18-year-olds have been arrested in connection with a life-threatening shooting that happened on Friday evening.

The shooting happened around 5 p.m. in the 900 block of E. 15th St., which is east of the KU campus and downtown.

The Lawrence Police Department later published a tweet specifying that the shooting took place at Parnell Park. 

The victim is believed to be between 17 and 20 years old. He was flown to a hospital in the area. 

A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with the shooting: 18-year-old Michael A. Hormell and 18-year-old Ardyn D. Pannell.

They have both been charged with aggravated robbery and conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery. Hormell was also booked for attempted second-degree murder.
