INDEPENDENCE, MO (KCTV) -

Independence police were searching for a missing 27-year-old man who is autistic and non-verbal.

Daniel Gutridge walked away from a group home in the 500 block of Bellevista Avenue about 9 a.m. Thursday.

Around 1:30 p.m., Independence police said that officers found him unharmed and safe in Kansas City, Missouri along the railroad tracks near I-435 and Winner Road.

Officers were in the area of Leslie Drive and Linwood Avenue in Independence. This is an area between the Drumm Farm Golf Course and Noland Road.
