Drexel, MO police chief arrested

CASS COUNTY, MO (KCTV) -

The Drexel, MO police chief was arrested on Wednesday morning. 

Drexel Police Chief Jonathan R.G. Carpenter was taken into custody about 2 a.m. on Wednesday. He has been charged with unlawful use of a weapon while intoxicated and resisting arrest. 

According to a new release from the Cass County Sheriff's Office, a witness told police the suspect started an argument with him and then pulled a gun out. 

A $7,500 bond has been set. 

Drexel is about an hour south of Kansas City.
