KANSAS CITY, KS (KCTV) -

A fire at a Kansas City, KS, home left nine people, including seven children, without a place to stay late Tuesday night.

The fire was reported at about 11:08 p.m. at a home in the 300 block of S Bethany Street.

Firefighters say the fire started in the back of the home.

No injuries were reported but two adults and seven children were evacuated from the home.

Firefighters say the house did have smoke and fire detectors.

Officials say the house is a total loss and estimated $60,000 in damage.

The American Red Cross was called to assist those displaced by the fire.
