Police identify man killed after car runs off road, catches fire in Olathe

OLATHE, KS (KCTV) -

Police have identified a man who was killed when his vehicle drove off the road, crashed and burst into flames on Tuesday.

The crash happened at about 2:30 p.m. near 133rd and S Greenwood Streets.

Police identified Jacob Loethen, 20, of Olathe, KS, as the man who died in the accident.

Officials say Loethen was driving west on 133rd St. at a high rate of speed when his vehicle left the road, hit an object in the tree line and caught fire.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
