KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

The man who terrorized women in the Waldo area of Kansas City for years in the 1980s has lost the appeal of his multiple convictions.

The Missouri Court of Appeals upheld Bernard Jackson 18 consecutive life sentences related to the attacks on four Waldo area women in 1983 and 1984.

Jackson, 60, was convicted by a jury of four counts of first-degree robbery, seven counts of sodomy and seven counts of rape.

On appeal, Jackson argued that the circuit court erred in denying him relief regarding the claim in his post-conviction motion that a juror serving at his trial committed misconduct by blogging about the case while it was being tried, thereby depriving him of due process.

The appeals court ruled Tuesday that "the juror's conduct in recording her thoughts and reflections on the trial in a private journal at night in the privacy of her hotel room journal did not violate the court's instructions."

The court went on to say that "the juror’s conduct in publishing on-line those thoughts and reflections after the trial had concluded and her discharge as a juror did not violate the court’s instructions."
