Woman dies after being shot in head in Kansas City; suspect at large

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Police are investigating the city's latest homicide after a woman who was shot in the head has died from her injuries.

Officers were called on a reported shooting at about 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 22 in the 3300 block of Jackson Ave. When they arrived on the scene, they found a woman that was suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound to the head.

She was taken to an area hospital where she later died from her injuries.

On Feb. 2, the victim was identified as 32-year-old Jaclyn Russell Burkhart from KC. 

Police say no suspect has been identified or arrested, and the investigation is ongoing.
