Victim of homicide near 27th, Denver is identified

A man died and a woman was left with life-threatening injuries following a shooting in Kansas City on Sunday, Jan. 21.

The shooting happened at about 11:20 a.m. just east of Denver Avenue and E. 27th Street. 

People in the area heard multiple gunshots. 

When officers arrived, they found a man and woman inside a white Dodge sedan that was parked in the area. Both of them had been shot. 

They were taken to a local hospital for treatment. 

At the hospital, the man died from his injuries and was pronounced dead. The woman was being treated for life-threatening injuries. 

On Feb. 1, the victim was identified as 26-year-old Ronald S. Washington.

No suspect information is available at this time.
