Former Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning will be honored with the Lamar Hunt Award.

The award will be presented to Manning at Kansas City's 48th Annual Salute to Professional Football event on Saturday, Feb. 24.

Manning will be joined by the AFC and NFC's player and coach of the year honorees.

“In addition to being one of the greatest to ever play the game, Peyton Manning reshaped the way the quarterback position is played and transcended the sport to become one of the most popular athletes of his generation,” said Chiefs CEO/Chairman Clark Hunt. “Throughout his career and into retirement, he has handled the many demands of a superstar with class, respect and dignity. Our family is thrilled to add Peyton's name to the outstanding list of previous recipients over this first decade of the Lamar Hunt Award for Professional Football.”

Manning, who won Super Bowls in both Indianapolis and Denver, finished his NFL career with 71,940 yards and 539 touchdown passes.
