LENEXA, KS (KCTV) -

The Lenexa Police Department is looking for a man who they say is responsible for a number of hit-and-runs and a carjacking on Wednesday.

Officers are searching for 37-year-old Raymond Anthony Cornejo Jr.

Police say Cornejo is wanted in connection with a series of crimes, including robbery, auto theft, fleeing police and hit-and-run.

A warrant has been issued for Cornejo’s arrest, with a bond of $100,000.

Cornejo is described as a white man who is 6-foot and 2-inches tall and weighs 230 pounds.

Police say Cornejo should be considered armed and dangerous. Cornejo was last seen Wednesday in the area of 93rd Street, between Pflumm and Lackman Roads.

Victim of carjacking talks about crime

A carjacking victim who came face to face with the man is talking about the crime that left him lying on the street.

One of Cornejo's victims, who was parked outside of a friend's house, had no clue the target of the manhunt was approaching him until it was too late.

"I dropped the window about an inch," the 73-year-old victim said. "He asked for a ride and I said, 'I can't do it.' I had no idea what was really going on."

He thought his vehicle doors were locked but suddenly Cornejo was inside his SUV.

The victim said he wrestled with the suspect, who's about half his age and weighs about 230 pounds.

"I knew immediately I wasn't a match for him," he said. "It seemed like I just got catapulted out of the vehicle."

Anyone with information about Cornejo’s whereabouts is asked to call the TIPS Hotline (816) 474-TIPS.
