UPDATE: Overland Park police say the assault on the Indian Creek Trail was "unfounded"

OVERLAND PARK, KS (KCTV) -

UPDATE: The Overland Park police department tells KCTV5 that the sexual assault on the Indian Creek Trail near Lamar Ave. was unfounded, after an intense follow up. 

The authorities are investigating after a woman was assaulted in the area of Indian Creek Drive and Lamar Avenue in Overland Park. 

The incident happened on a trail there at about 6:30 a.m. while she was jogging. 

A white man in his late 30s or early 40s assaulted her. He had an athletic build and was about 6 feet tall. He was unshaven and was wearing a black stocking cap, Adidas running pants, a zip up black jacket with front pockets, and dark shoes. 

The authorities said they will provide more information when they get it.
