Kidnapping suspect arrested after Amber Alert issued for 5-month-old girl in Greene County, MO

GREENE COUNTY, MO (KCTV) -

Officials in Greene County, MO, have arrested the man they believe is responsible for stealing a car with a five-month baby girl inside.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office says they have arrested Waite Aaron Showalter, 37.

Showalter was booked into the county jail and is accused of kidnapping and tampering.

According to the Missouri Department of Safety, five-month-old Carol Day was inside a black 2007 Chevy Impala that was stolen in Greene County on Wednesday. 

The vehicle was stolen from the Kum & Go at 4996 South State Highway 125, Rogersville, MO. according to the sheriff's office. 

Carol was found safe later in the day.
