KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

In honor of the Kansas City Chiefs making the playoffs, the Christopher S. Bond Bridge over the Missouri River will shine brightly in red lights.

Missouri Department of Transportation crews have installed red plexiglass shields to cover each of the 40 lights on the dual span bridge.

Crews say the lights will come to life Wednesday night and will remain red while the Chiefs make their push to be crowned NFL champions.

The iconic bridge is named for Christopher “Kit” Bond, the former governor and Missouri State senator.
