Liberty police are investigating after someone in a car shot at people inside another car on Friday.

The incident happened around 1:30 p.m. in the area of Kansas Street and Forest Avenue.

Before officers arrived, it was reported that shots were fired from one car toward another car.

Witnesses said one of the vehicles is a newer red Ford, possibly a Focus, that had two to three people inside. It has a Kansas City Royals placard on the front instead of a license plate. No license plate number is available.

The shots were reportedly fired by someone in this Ford toward people inside a white Chevrolet Impala.

The red Ford drove away headed westbound on Kansas Street.

No one was injured.

The case is currently under investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Liberty Police Department at 816-439-4701 or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
