KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

We love our animals, but, sometimes, they don’t’ get the attention they deserve.

If you struggle to take your dog on a walk amid a busy schedule, a new app is gaining popularity. It’s called Wag, and it’s really easy to use.

Some customers in Kansas City call it the Uber of dog walking.

Andrea Tunks adopted her dog in April, and now has even more to juggle.

“It is difficult when I work full time, and I’m also a student,” she said. “It has been quite the adventure.”

But thankfully, Wag has come to the rescue. Tunks requests dog walkers when her schedule doesn’t go as planned or she gets stuck working a double.

“Wag has been the biggest lifesaver to me because there’s not always the time,” she said.

It doesn’t just help those in need of more time but also those in need of cash.

Annie Schroeder walks the dogs.

“I needed a way to make some money on the side for things,” she said. “It is very much like Uber. You can request a walk and then a certified trusted dog owner will show up to your house.”

Schroeder says all walkers go through a certified check to make sure they’re safe. The company will even send you a lock box to put outside your home or apartment so that the walker can get your dog when you’re not there.

From there, you get live updates and can track the walk in real time.

“It is kind of funny. You can see where they go to the bathroom,” Tunks said.

The app also offers dog sitting and boarding. In the future, they’re expanding to dog boarding.

There is no shortage of walkers in Kansas City. Anytime Tunks has used it, dozens of walkers have popped up.
