KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A Kansas City man has died after his vehicle went off the road and hit a tree Sunday afternoon.

The accident happened about 4:51 p.m. in the area of Oldham and Hillcrest Roads.

Officers responded to the area due to an injury accident. One person was taken to an area hospital, where he later died.

Police say a silver Buick passenger car was driving southbound when the driver lost control. They say the vehicle went off the left side of the road and up a heavily wooded incline before it hit a tree.

Authorities say the driver and lone occupant was a 40-year-old Kansas City, MO man.
