NORTH KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Kansas City is gaining a lot of attention as we approach the total solar eclipse, and one bar is gaining national recognition as one of the best spots to catch a glimpse.

From 12-4 p.m., Chicken N Pickle will host an eclipse party on its massive rooftop in North Kansas City.

On offer will be viewing glasses, glow-in-the-dark swag and drink specials, giveaways, an aerial bartender, a DJ and two pickleball tournaments. Tickets are $10 each. They are almost sold, but there are still some left.

The unique property is located at 1761 Burlington St.

The new North Kansas City venue has landed on an honorary list thanks to its unique pickleball bar concept and view.

CNN named it one of the seven best bars in the whole country to look into the sky and see the eclipse. It beat out bars and restaurants in dozens of states.

Marketing manager Amanda Unruh says for only being open since March, the rooftop found a quick claim to fame.

"You got greater Kansas City over hear ... we are in direct line for where the solar eclipse is going to be," she said. "There is nothing else like us in the United States."

Chicken N Pickle was one of the several bars in Kansas City considered, but the only to make the list.
