Authorities seek information about 4-year-old cold case homicide in KCMO

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

The Greater Kansas City Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline and the Kansas City Police Department are again asking the public for information about a homicide that happened in 2013.

James West was found dead on Aug. 2, 2013, near a homeless camp between Swope Parkway and US-71 Highway.

Police received a call about a stabbing in the area at 10:45 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a witness, who was deaf, which led them to West’s body. 

West was former military and his death was ruled a murder by blunt trauma according to the medical examiner.

Anyone with information about the murder is asked to call the TIPS Hotline (816) 474-TIPS.
