Study ranks states with the best, worst school systems in 2017

FAIRWAY, KS (KCTV) -

A new study is breaking down the best and worst states for public schools.

The study, conducted by WalletHub.com, ranks each of the 50 states public school system.

Missouri did not fare well on the list, coming in at 31 out of 50.

Kansas, on the other hand, came in at a confident 15.

WalletHub says making sure a child is successful in school, begins with choosing the right one.

Results from the website are based on a variety of factors. They include school performance, funding, safety, class size and instructor credentials.

Kansas’s 15 ranking can be broken down. The state ranked 23rd in quality and 16th for safety.

The same goes for Missouri’s 31 ranking. Schools ranked 25th in quality and 36th in safety. But, Missouri does have something to brag about, the state boasts a tie for the highest median S.A.T score.

Louisiana brought up the rear on the list. Massachusetts took home top honors.
