WYANDOTTE COUNTY, KS (KCTV) -

A man charged with murder in connection with the death of a young woman in 2015 will be asked to stand trial for a third time.

Antione Fielder, who was 27 in 2015, was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of 22-year-old Kelsey K. Ewonus.

His first trial, ended in a hung jury, which resulted in a mistrial. The prosecution decided to try the case for the second time, but the trial again ended in a hung jury.

In each instance, there has been no risk of double jeopardy because he was not acquitted.

Ewonus’ body was found in a car on June 30, 2015, in the area of Francis and Bristow streets. She had been shot to death.

The Wyandotte County Prosecutor’s Office has scheduled a status hearing for Nov. 22, and a third trial for Nov. 27.

Ewonus is survived by a son who, at the time, had just celebrated his first birthday.
