UPDATE: 2 rescued from Missouri River by Kansas City and KCK fire crews

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

The Kansas City Fire Department and Kansas City, KS Fire Department rescued two people from the Missouri River. 

The Kansas City Police Department's helicopter assisted with the rescue. 

Kansas City Fire Chief Paul Berardi tweeted that fire crews responded to the area shortly after 8 p.m.. 

Berardi said the victims were secured on dry ground around 8:30 p.m. 

They did receive medical attention. 

No additional information is available at this time.
