Police identify man killed in Olathe crash at Santa Fe, K-7

OLATHE, KS (KCTV) -

Emergency crews say a man has died after a vehicle hit a tree early Tuesday morning.

It happened about 6:05 a.m. near Santa Fe Street and Kansas 7 Highway.

The man killed in the wreck has been identified as Joseph Nteziyaremye, 29, of Kansas City, KS. 

Authorities say a sport utility vehicle was traveling west Santa Fe Street when it struck the tree. The SUV burst into flames.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

One lane of westbound Santa Fe Street is closed in the area due to the accident.

Police do not know what caused the crash. They say the man was the only person inside the vehicle.
