36-year-old motorcyclist dies in Clay County crash

CLAY COUNTY, MO (KCTV) -

A 36-year-old man from Smithville died early Sunday morning in a two-vehicle accident in Clay County.

The crash happened on Mt. Olivet Road near Jami Drive.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reports that Christopher Scott lost control of his motorcycle on the wet road and crossed the center line. He then collided with another vehicle head-on. 

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and the occupant of the other vehicle were taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries.
