Blue Springs car dealership shot up by vandals

Posted: Updated:

A Blue Springs business owner is cleaning up a costly mess after vandals shattered windows at his dealership off 40 Highway.

The owner is keeping a close eye on his lot in more ways than one.

He said someone took aim at his vehicles through the holes in his fence.

When Brian Martin unlocked his business he found infuriating evidence and realized he was a victim of vandalism.

“Both the windows on the driver side shattered,” he said, describing the damage. “The only thing keeping this window intact is the window tint."

"The angle that they would have to be at to shoot in," he said, "they had some time on their hands. It wasn't a drive by.”

The crime will cost the small business owner a lot. He not only has to pay for repairs, but he also can't sell his damaged vehicles until they are fixed.

“I don't know why someone would do this,” he said.

“I hope and pray it doesn't rain in between now and the time the windows do get fixed because, if that's the case, then I've got wet seats and possibly more damage to vehicles,” he said.

Martin is increasing security and is asking that anyone with information call Blue Springs police.

He hopes whoever is responsible is caught before they target someone else.

The owner checked with nearby car dealers and, so far, they have not had damage.
