KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A man has died after being stabbed in the Westport area of Kansas City on Wednesday evening.

The stabbing happened at 5:37 p.m. near a strip mall in the 900 block of Westport Road.

Police say two men were in a park in the area when they began arguing.

Witnesses say the two men were hanging out and drinking throughout the day. Then, one of the men stabbed the other.

The victim limped through the parking lot and went to a business. There, people saw him bleeding and called 911.

One witness said that the suspect was standing over the victim, kicking him and screaming at him.

The victim, identified as Jorge Sanchez, suffered critical injuries and was taken to an area hospital.

He later died of his injuries.

Police have arrested the other man, 48-year-old Kenneth Tillson, and charged him with second-degree murder and armed criminal action.

Tillson said that he and Sanchez were arguing about a woman.

Police did recover a knife from Tillson.

Prosecutors have requested a $75,000 cash bond.
