A man charged with murder in connection with the death of a young woman in 2015 has had both his trials end with hung juries.

Antione Fielder, who was 27 in 2015, was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of 22-year-old Kelsey K. Ewonus.

His first trial, ended in a hung jury, which resulted in a mistrial.

There was no risk of double jeopardy because he was not acquitted. So, the prosecutor re-tried the case.

On Thursday, for the second time now, Fielder’s trial has ended in a hung jury.

There is no word yet whether the Wyandotte County District Attorney’s Office will try to take him to trial for a third time.

Ewonus’ body was found in a car on June 30, 2015 in the area of Francis and Bristow Streets. She had been shot to death.

She is survived by a son who, at the time, had just celebrated his first birthday.
