KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

The coverage of rain should dissipate through the middle of the day to very isolated with a mix of clouds and sun warming temperatures up.

Storms will develop again later Thursday afternoon and through the evening as a cold front pushes south across the area.

StormTrack5 Meteorologist Chris Suchan said some storms could be strong enough to produce hail and brief strong wind gusts.

"Localized flash flooding will be a concern as well given fairly slow movement of storms to the east and risk of some 'training' of storms over the same area," Suchan said.

A high near 91 degrees - cooler to north and hotter to the south - is forecasted. Showers and thunderstorms are likely to continue through the overnight forecast into Friday morning with a cooler Friday to follow.
