KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Summer does not have to break the bank.

Here are a few fun and cheap ways to entertain the family this week.

On Tuesday, the Westport branch of the Kansas City Public Library is hosting a few magic shows.

Prepare to be dazzled by magician Eric Vaughn. The show starts at 10 a.m. and is open to all ages.

Independence is where you can find the Children’s Peace Pavilion.

It is a hands-on museum with more than 25 interactive exhibits that engage your kids in a variety of life skills, including self-acceptance, conflict resolution and cultural appreciation. It also teaches children about peace in all sorts of interactive ways.

Admission is free with a suggested donation of $1 per person.

Friday is ‘Summer Days’ at the Overland Park Arboretum.

The staff is setting up a huge water play area with a temporary splash pad, face painting, giant bubble wands and more.

Admission is only $1 for kids and $3 for adults. On Tuesdays, the arboretum is free to everyone.
