SHAWNEE, KS (KCTV) -

A woman who lives in Liberty, Missouri has been reunited with a class ring she's spent 20 years searching for.

Kay Durham bought a pair of jeans at a thrift store in Shawnee, Kansas and found a class ring in them.

It had red stones and was from Hayden Catholic High School in Topeka, Kansas.

She and her daughter, Gaylene, managed to track down the owner who, it turns out, had been looking for it a very long time. Two decades, in fact.

On Saturday, they gave Julie Merckling the ring back and shared the pictures of the touching moment with KCTV5 News.

The story is surely a note to have faith in others, but also not to give up hope in finding what you're searching for.
