Motorcyclist, 39, killed in wreck at Hardesty, Saida identified

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A motorcyclist has died after hitting an SUV near the intersection of N. Hardesty Avenue and Saida Street on Friday evening. 

Police identified the man Monday as William E. Dowell. Dowell, of Kansas City, was 39 years old. 

A woman was backing out of her driveway around 6 p.m. when the motorcyclist, who was heading northbound on Hardesty, ran into the SUV's left side that crossed into his path.

The man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and a head injury.

He died a short time later at the hospital.

He was not wearing a helmet.

The woman was not injured.
