BONNER SPRINGS, KS (KCTV) -

A man was killed in a head-on crash Friday in the westbound lanes of Kansas Highway 32 at 117th Street.

The crash happened around 2 p.m.

Kansas Highway Patrol said a 1998 Chevrolet Lumina was going eastbound and then crossed into the westbound lanes for an unknown reason. There, it hit a 2004 Ford F-150.

The driver of the Lumina died at the scene. He has been identified as 58-year-old James Roden from Edwardsville.

The 66-year-old man driving the other F-150 was taken to a local hospital. KCTV5 News was told he had no serious injuries.

By 5 p.m., the crash had been cleared and the road was reopened.

Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating what caused the crash.

"You're on a highway with a speed limit of 55, and when you've got even a car doing the speed limit and another one is going to hit it head on, yes speed will play into it as a factor," said Ian Ingram with KHP. "But do we think that the car that came across was speeding? No, not at this time."
