3 walk away after car flips while traveling at 100 mph in KCMO

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Three people are lucky to be alive after flipping a car while speeding through Kansas City early Friday morning.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened before 2:40 a.m. near Broadway Boulevard and Pennway Street.

According to a deputy, a man in a white sports car was driving north on Broadway Boulevard with two other passengers, a man and a woman. The man was driving at 100 mph and flipped the car into the bushes.

All three people inside the car were able to walk away from the accident.

The driver is in custody for reckless driving.

Authorities are investigating whether or not alcohol was involved.

Broadway was closed during the investigation but has reopened.

No one was injured in the accident.
